Eligibility / Participation Requirements are useful for tracking and enforcing rules that require a minimum level of participation. A common case would be a championship meet with a rule requiring athletes to have swum in a certain number of meets during the regular season to enter the championship meet.
Eligibility is managed within a specific meet (under Meet Setup) or in a Meet Template. Both options are located under Schedule.

Setting Eligibility within a Meet Template (suggested)
If you have meets that require a minimum level of participation, you can set these requirements one time by creating Meet Templates specific to each meet. This is done from the Schedule > Meet Templates area, and then you can apply these templates to your meets.
➞ See the Meet Templates article for additional details on creating your Meet Templates and applying them to your meets.
>>Note: Updates to these requirements (along with any settings in a Meet Template) will be automatically applied to any meet that has not yet occured.
>>Note: If your Meet Templates have been shared by your league, you will not be able to edit these settings. If you see a setting you need changed and it is grayed out, contact your league to determine if they will update the shared template, or obtain approval to copy the template to create your own with the settings changed.
Details for each configuration option is listed below.
Managing Eligibility in a Meet
You can also set or update your team's eligibility requirements directly from within your meet. This will only affect the meet you are working on, but allows you to override to create specific eligibility requirements as needed. More on this below.
This is done from Schedule > Select Meet Name > Meet Setup >Eligibility
>>Note: If your Meet Templates have been shared by your league, you will not be able to edit these settings. If you see a setting you need changed and it is grayed out, contact your league to determine if they will update the shared template, or obtain approval to unlink the template so you can update the settings and save the new version as your meet template.
Details for each configuration option is listed below.
Eligibility - Configuration Options
>>Note: Hover over the ? next to each configuration to see a popup of the definitions provided below:
- Participation requirement rules can vary by age, and can require both a minimum number of meets since a given date, and a minimum number of swims/splashes per meet.
- You can choose whether participation in "individual events only" or "individual or relay events" counts towards eligibility requirements.
- You can also restrict eligibility to meets that are linked to a particular meet template (just make sure all of the applicable meets are indeed linked to the meet template)
>>Note: For the purposes of participation requirements, either a valid time or a DQ or DNF (did not finish) is considered a "swim". Swims in "unofficial" meets are not counted.
Eligibility Reports
Only when eligibility requirements are set, will applicable reports display in the user interface under the specific meet. This adds two new reports to that meet in Entries > Reports: Ineligible Athletes and Eligible Athletes.
>>Note: This is not the same as a stand-alone "splash report" that is not tied to a meet. Some teams have requested this, and it is on our roadmap to consider in a future release.
