Many teams will schedule a break in the meet program, typically for a changing of volunteer shifts, a shift in timing location as teams switch from 25’s to 50’s, or to hold fun parent/coach relays during the break.
Meet Maestro provides the flexibility to configure scheduled breaks in your meet setup on a per-meet (i.e., dual) or per-session (i.e., multi-session) basis to account for the pre-determined breaks needed throughout the meet.

Accessing the Scheduled Breaks Configuration
Depending on whether your meet is a single session, or multi-session (or virtual) meet, the scheduled breaks configuration is found on the Meet Setup (single) or Sessions (multi/virtual) sections under the Meet Maestro Settings (gear icon).
➧ Single Session Meet (i.e., Dual Meet)
In a single session meet, only the Meet Setup option will display in the settings menu, as there is only one "session." The Schedule tab is where you will set up and manage your scheduled breaks.
➧ Multi-Session or Virtual Meets
In a multi-session and/or virtual meet, users will see a Sessions tab below the Meet Setup. The Schedule tab, where you set up and manage your scheduled breaks, is found within each session under EDIT.
Adding & Editing Scheduled Breaks
Once you have located the Schedule tab within your single or multi-session meet, the process to set up and/or edit your scheduled breaks is the same.
➧ Adding a Scheduled Break
To add a scheduled break click on the Add Scheduled Break button and then input the name of the break; select after which event the break will take place; and how long the break will last.
» Note: Scheduled breaks can only be set between events, not between heats.
➧ Editing/Deleting a Scheduled Break
As long as the meet is not locked under Finish & Export, you can edit any aspect of the break (name, event, time)
➧ Rain Delays
Manage Your Scheduled Breaks on Meet Day
The scheduled break is indicated by a striped grey bar within the event timeline to the left of the time entry interface screen, based on the event selection made during setup.
When selected, the scheduled break will display with options to Start Break and +1/-1 minute buttons to add or subtract time to the scheduled break as needed.
➧ Start Break
To start the countdown timer, click on the blue Start Break button. This starts the break timer counting down from the selected time.
➧ Add/Subtract Time
The blue +1 minute and -1 minute buttons will add or subtract a minute from the countdown.
➧ Finish Break (when done or early)
➧ Restart Break
You will have the option of restarting the break if needed, by clicking on the blue Restart Break button. This will restart the break countdown clock at the same time as it was on when you clicked the Finish button.
» Note: Restarting will not restart the break at the original time, but you can add/subtract minutes as needed.
Breaks in Reports
After the scheduled break is added, it will display on the heat sheets and session reports similar to an event. The start times of the events will reflect the break.
Breaks are not indicated on the Psych Sheet, Timer Sheets, Place Judge Forms, Entry Labels, Athlete Check-In or Records.
