Meet admins can manage teams competing in the meet directly in Meet Maestro. This includes adding new teams, editing existing teams, deleting teams, and filtering by team name or abbreviation.
The Teams screen is found under the Meet Maestro Settings (gear icon).
Covered in this Article:
Add Team
The ability to add a new team is beneficial when a competitor does not have a team management system, so you need to basically "deck add" their team of athletes into the merged meet.
When the meet is not locked on the Finish/Export screen, a team can be added to the meet. These teams and their scores will display in the mobile app just as any team already included in the meet.
➧ Is this Another SwimTopia Team?
If you add a team that also uses SwimTopia, please be aware that this team will not be linked to their SwimTopia account, which is required for the results to be transferred from Meet Maestro. You will need to download the file from the Finish & Export screen and send the file to the team to be uploaded to their meet's Results screen.
If changes have not been made to the meet in Meet Maestro, it's better to link to the team from the SwimTopia meet, or upload their entries file (if non-SwimTopia team), and re-merge the meet (from the Merge/Export screen).
➧ Adding Athletes to the New Team
After adding the team(s), you can then begin manually adding the athletes from the team. See ➞ Meet Maestro Settings - Athletes
Edit Team
When the meet is not locked on the Finish/Export screen, the following team information can be edited when you click on the Edit link: (The information presented is derived from the Team Information screen in your SwimTopia site - Manage Team > Settings > Team Information).
- Full Name - Full name for your team (60 characters max)
- Team Name - Commonly used name -- can be the same as Full Name (16 characters max)
- Abbreviation/Club Code - Team abbreviation for meet entries, heat sheets, etc. (5 characters max)
» Note: These edits only affect team information in this meet. The updates will be present in Maestro reports and results exports, but will not overwrite the Team Information in SwimTopia. To permanently edit the team information, the updates need to be made in the team's SwimTopia site (Manage Team > Settings > Team Information).
Delete Team
The Delete Team option at the bottom of the screen will remove all athletes and any results (if entered) from the meet entirely.
Newly added teams without athletes entered in events can be easily deleted. To safeguard against accidental deletions of teams with athlete and results, all athletes must be scratched from the meet first. (only this meet is affected)
If this is your intention, you can scratch the athletes from the Athletes screen. See ➞ Meet Maestro Settings - Athletes
When all athletes are scratched, or if there were no athletes to scratch, a deletion confirmation will display before the team will be deleted from the meet.
