Supported Timing Options
➧ Manual Time Entry (Default)
Manual entry is the default timing system. To use it, users do not need to visit the Timing Setup page. The number of Timer entry boxes that display in the time entry interface can be controlled at the event level. There is a timer visibility toggle providing easy toggle capability directly on the entry interface ➞ See Meet Maestro Time Entry Interface Overview.
➧ Timing Systems
The Microsoft Windows Meet Maestro desktop application is required to run any of the supported timing systems below - https://swimtopia.com/downloads/maestro/latest
(If you have a Mac with software that runs Windows, our Windows app can be run on a Mac)
» Note: You must first purchase one of the supported timing systems, and then proceed with the setup between Meet Maestro and the timing system. (links provided below)
➞ Fully Supported Timing Systems:
➞ Beta Timing Systems:
- Swiss Timing
- Daktronics Omnisport 2000 console
- CTS System 5/6 Timing Console
- CTS Gen 7 Timing Console
Fill out this Timing System Beta Application Form if you are interested in testing any of these systems or letting us know what other system would be of interest to your team.
Accessing the Timing Setup
Timing Setup options are found under Meet Maestro Settings (gear icon).
Select a Timing System
» Note: The timing configuration is per computer, not per session per team, or per meet. For example, if you have a laptop set up to use a timing system it will try to use that timing system for any session. So it is possible to configure two different computers to input times in different ways.
➧ Step 1: Select to "ADD TIMING SYSTEM CONFIGURATION"
If you are NOT using the Windows desktop Meet Maestro application, you will see a message and a link to instructions, as seen below.
➧ Optional Step: Multi-Session / Virtual Meets
If this is a multi-session meet (virtual or otherwise) you will be prompted to select your session. If not, this step is not displayed.
➧ Step 2: Select the Timing System
Configure the Timing System Selected

Testing Before the Meet Starts
Practice setting up and using your system several times before your first meet!
To support running tests prior to the start of the meet, but prevent premature delivery of upcoming swim reminders and live result notifications to Pro users of the SwimTopia mobile app, an early start warning will display to confirm whether or not you intend to start the meet early.
➧ This warning will only display if two conditions are met:
- The "Enable Live Event/Heat bar" setting is on
- The meet or session start time is in the future (not earlier than or equal to the current time)
» Note: This warning will display for each test performed until the confirmation to start the meet is selected (or start the session in a multi-session meet scenario). When "Yes..." is selected, the estimated start times will be adjusted, and the notification process will begin. There is no option to revert back to a pre-notification state. (Workaround: add a Scheduled Break to stop the notifications)
Changing Timing Systems / Configuring Other Sessions
Once a system has been selected, the Timing Setup page changes to allow editing or deleting of the chosen timing system.
» Note: You cannot add more than one timing system for the same session. If you want to change to another timing system, you will delete and then select to add a new timing system.
Editing Timing System Settings
The settings can be changed by pressing the gear icon in the black timing system bar on the results entry screen. You do not need to go back to the Timing Setup screen.
➧ CTS Dolphin
➧ CTS System 5/6
➧ CTS Gen7 Timing Console
➧ Time Drops
➧ Wylas Timing
Timing Saving Feature: If you just need to update the meet details in the Wylas Timing Meet Maestro adapter, you can click the Update Meet Deails button on the timing system bar without having to open the settings window.
Desktop App Restart
The timing configuration is remembered per session. So closing and reopening the desktop app will not require you to reconfigure the timing system.
Scoreboards
Colorado Time Systems provides DisplayLink Plus Video Display software which enables meet management integration through a set of “Start List” files. SwimTopia provides the support to export start lists within the Timing Setup of each meet to broadcast to scoreboards.
» Note: Any timing system that can support the .scb file extension, *should* be able to utilize this feature as well.
Start List Files
- ‘.scb’ file extension
- One file per event
- Exported per session
- The event files contain athlete/relay team and team abbreviation information for each lane
- 10 lane pool maximum
» Note: Currently, if you make changes to your lineup (deck adds, deletions, heat/lane changes), you will need to re-export the start lists. A more automated solution is planned for a future release (TBD).
