Leagues can define divisions and assign teams to those divisions. This can be particularly helpful if you’d like to display League Standings on your site.
Covered in this Article:
- Step 1: Create your Divisions
- Step 2: Assign and Rank (optional) your Divisions
- Step 3: Display League Standings (Optional)
➧ Step 1: Create your Divisions
Go to Manage League > Settings > Divisions and click the green Add Division button. Enter the name for the division and then Save. Repeat as needed until all your divisions are defined.
If your league doesn’t have divisions, you can create one Division and name it the same as your league’s name (this is typically only needed if you’d like to display League Standings).
You can edit your existing divisions on this page or remove one altogether by hovering your cursor over the Remove button until it turns red:
➧ Step 2: Assign and Rank (optional) your Divisions
Once you have all your divisions created, you will need to assign each team to its division.
If your league ranks your divisions, you can enable this optional feature.
- Go to Manage League > Settings > Division Assignments.
- Ensure the current season is selected in the left column.
- Select the appropriate division for each team from the dropdown menu in the “Division” column.
- Optionally enable and set each team's Rank.
- Don't forget to Save when done.
Note: Division assignment is by season, as teams may change divisions based on their performance from season to season.
➧ Step 3: Display League Standings on your Website (Optional)
Now that your divisions are established, you can display League Standings on the front-facing side of your site. For more information, see ➞ Scoring for Leagues and League Standings Snippet
