Swim Lessons
FeaturedMany teams ask about the ability to manage swim lessons in addition to their swim teams. While there are a few ways you can manage both, one method that works well is to create a separate "season" called Swim Lessons. By using a different season for lessons, you will have the ability to assign Athlete Roster Groups and Roles, communicate with only these parents and set up multiple lesson days/times.
An example setup might look like this:
Under Manage Team > Settings > Athlete Roster Groups, create a roster group for each of the days/times that you will be offering lessons.
Then, you will want to create a New Season called Swim Lessons under Manage Team > Schedule > Seasons > Add Season.
Be sure to set the lessons season as your current season while you work on setting up your registration form. You will want to be sure and enable the Athlete Roster Group page on your registration form. This will allow you set different registration prices for different lesson days and times, as well as allow parents to choose the lesson group they would like to sign up for.
This is what your parents will see during registration. They will be able to select a lesson time for each swimmer they are registering.
Once they have completed their registration, the swimmers' information and lesson group will display on your People page.
Setting up your lessons this way allows you to communicate with each lesson group individually through Manage Team > Communications > Compose and then start typing in the first part of the lesson group names:
Using the Athlete Roster Report (Manage Team > Reports > Member Information > Athlete Roster) you can download a .csv file and then sort your roster in various ways by manipulating the data (by day/time, alphabetical, age, etc).
Remember that your Team Roster and some reports are limited by what is set as your current season, so you will need to be sure you are sorting/filter correctly when switching between what you have set as "current" under Manage Team > Schedule > Seasons.
This is only one way to set up lessons. We'd LOVE to hear how you have successfully created and managed your lessons separate (or combined) with your swim teams. Please share what has worked for you... learning from other teams what works best for them is an invaluable resource for all of our teams.
